Retirees have different options for travel and emergency medical assistance services depending on age.
Retirees Under Age 65
You are enrolled automatically in the Redpoint emergency travel assistance with your UPlan medical plan selection. Please review the details on the services offered since some services are only available to employees covered by Basic Life Insurance.
Retirees Age 65 or Over
MEDEX offers a program called TravMed Abroad for U.S. citizens traveling outside of the United States. The package includes short-term medical insurance, emergency medical evacuation, repatriation, and worldwide 24-hour access to emergency medical assistance .
The $100,000 Emergency Medical Expense Benefit can be applied to expenses such as physicians' fees and hospital admission, medically necessitated evacuation, repatriation of mortal remains, special trip expenses, and more.
TravMed Abroad Premiums
The cost to purchase TravMed Abroad is by age bracket. A 7-day minimum trip length and 90-day maximum trip length apply.
Annual frequent traveler coverage is also available by age bracket. No one trip can be more than 30 consecutive days.
