What if I fail the assessment? What if I fail three times?
There are no repercussions for failing the first attempt. However, after a second failed attempt, we suggest that employees work with their supervisor to prepare a strategy for passing the third time. This could include revisiting course materials, attending a lab, or retaking the course. After a third failed attempt, there is a waiting period before the course and assessment can be taken again. For financial courses, there is a six-month waiting period, and for HRMS courses, there is a three-month waiting period. During this time, an employee’s supervisor will determine a course of action for mentoring, coaching, or restructuring the employee’s work duties and responsibilities. Once the waiting period is up, an employee must complete the course content again before assessment access is granted.
What happens if I log out or stop taking the course? The assessment?
The course or assessment times out after three hours of idling without any activity. You can log out of the course at any time. However each time you log out and log back in you will need to navigate through the course to get to where you left off. Always attempt to complete the assessment from start to finish in one sitting. If you get interrupted and need to close out of an assessment, you may experience technical difficulties in resuming the assessment.
What if I am having difficulty viewing the course content or opening the assessment?
First, check the system requirements and make sure your system meets those requirements. Older versions of Flash Player can cause problems with viewing content and running courses and assessments. If system requirements are met, please be patient while the content loads. If you continue to have problems, email ltd@umn.edu
When will the assessment completion show on my training record?
Once you have passed the assessment, the completion will appear on your ULearn transcript. (Trainings completed before September 1, 2012 will not appear in ULearn.)
