3 Steps to Focus on Your Health

Health and wellness can be overwhelming. Even if you already feel healthy, figuring out what to focus on can be difficult. To make things simpler for you, we at the Wellness Program would recommend you take these three steps to start making progress toward your goals. Any or all of these steps are going to give you insights into what you're doing right and what could use some attention.

1. Take the Wellness Assessment

The first step is to reflect on your daily habits. The wellness assessment is a great tool to help you identify areas in your life where you may want to focus to improve your overall wellbeing. Even if you’re already health conscious, the assessment can offer valuable and even surprising insights. By completing the assessment by March 31, 2017, you gain 150 wellness points and most importantly are headed in the right direction towards a healthier you.

2. Get a Biometric Health Screening

The biometric health screening provides you with vital health information in real time. At your screening, you’ll immediately get to see metrics such as your cholesterol numbers, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels. Biometric health screenings are available through Boynton Health on every campus or through your physician’s office. Knowing your numbers could be the powerful motivation to push you forward even if it is just one-step at a time. If you’re concerned about your results on any level, we encourage you to contact your health care provider for further evaluation. After the screening is complete, you will earn 150 wellness points and will be ready to move on to the next step!

3. Find Guidance from a Health Coach

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure about what to do with your results, we encourage you to consider coaching. The Wellness Program offers you a way to talk to a health coach either in-person or over the phone. If you choose to speak to a health coach three or more times, you can also earn up to 250 wellness points and work on adopting new habits to accomplish your goals!
